The Prince of Wales has opened a ‘Rural Training Centre’ in Romania.
The centre is an educational facility located at the Prince of Wales house in the UNESCO protected village of Viscri. Stanhope Gate master-planned the re-organisation and extension of the current buildings, forming the farm court in sympathy with the existing character of the farm buildings in the area. The centre helps to support the preservation of architectural heritage, farming and sustainable development in Romania.

The converted 18th century barn and the farm court have been complemented with the addition of a new kitchen block, accommodation and an open barn for outdoor training. The architectural details are inspired by the vernacular architecture of Transylvanian Saxon villages and have been designed using reclaimed and new materials.
