The Prince of Wales home in Viscri is also a Rural Training Centre and an educational facility located in the UNESCO protected village of Viscri.
Stanhope Gate Architecture master-planned the re-organisation and extension of the current buildings. The converted 18th century barn and the farm court have been complemented with the addition of a new kitchen block, accommodation and an open barn for outdoor training.
The architectural details are inspired by the vernacular architecture of Transylvanian Saxon villages and have been designed using reclaimed and new traditional materials.
The centre helps to support the preservation of architectural heritage, farming and sustainable development in Romania.
